not-so-common core reindeer

I was inspired the other evening to create.
From creating, more inspiration follows.
Anyone else have that happen to them, too? I had fun posting yesterday on our facebook page the stages of my creations as I was making them. People had great guesses!

{stage two}
{stage three}

Anyways, creating these little guys was fun. But as I woke up this morning, I realized that they weren't done yet. These little guys had a fate larger than clipart. They have a major role to play in the lives of many kindergarten teachers.

So without further ado, I introduce you to...

These little guys are featured in a brand new FREE product that I created to give you chance to stake out a few of the Common Core Standards that are coming to many of our kindergarten classrooms this year! (and to the North Pole it seems)

Hopefully these teacher starters will help get your wheels turning and to become more familiar with a few of the standards. Enjoy!

Helps Meet Common Core Math Standards:
  • K.CC.2 Count forward beginning from a given number (not 1) within the known sequence (known sequence includes counting by ones and tens).
  • K.CC.3.c. Print numbers from 0-20 when prompted (number formation).
  • K.CC.4.b-2. Explain orally the number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement.
  • K.CC.4.c. Recognize that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
  • K.CC.5.b. Count up to 10 objects in a scattered configuration by answering the question “how many”.
  • K.CC.6 d. Compare two groups of objects and identify and state if they are equal.

...and don't forget Reindeer love feedback and comments (just like teachers do!)
