Instant Homework – Vacation Memory Book

Creating homework that is a vacation memory book just became as easy and hitting the print button! This vacation memory book was created because each year at least one of my kinders takes a family trip to Disney or some pretty fantastic place. While they’re absent from school, I want them to be able to have something both educational to take with that isn’t just a packet of worksheets. You know this isn’t a worksheet classroom to begin with.

And, you know that I’m all about making it worthwhile since I like to work smart – so my vacation memory book is both homework for while they’re gone, a great keepsake and I don’t have to gather materials each time someone leaves.

And be sure to read on to find out how you can get it for free {yessss FREE}

Now my students can keep learning while creating memories away from the classroom. It has plenty of pages to cover any length of vacation and will be cherished by the family with pages for planning, remembering and parents will adore the “about me” page!

It totally satisfies the parent request for gathering homework ahead of time – in my mind that’s a big {{phew}} sigh of mental checklist relief! When they bring it back to the classroom we share how it’s a non-fiction book and it’s always a hit – especially if they put in photos!

Parents can use it to discuss and plan with their child by talking about where they will stay, how they will get there and who is all going to be included in the family vacation. If they are headed to Disney, I always ask to come with {wink}

It features a table of contents and lots of places for students to respond without being overwhelming in the amount of writing. They can use pictures, coloring and circling objects to help tell their story in addition to just using words.

It’s one of the first items I’ve ever created to share from our classroom to yours – and it still has it’s magic. I always keep a few printed and ready to go each year so that whenever I receive a parent email or they mention it to me in person, I can quickly stash one into the student’s cubbie so it’s one less thing to have to remember. I could add it to my to-do list, but having them ready to go saves me that step!

I mentioned that you could get it for free, right? Get this free for being an e-mail subscriber. It’s my way of saying thanks for being a loyal reader!
