Hey there
Kindergarten is awesome.
The world of kindergarten is such a unique place…
The stuff we get to teach for the first time, the cats we have to herd at the beginning of each year and the growth we get to see – makes it so special.
I’m Leslie and I’ll be the first to admit that I love it!
I’m all about revealing the things that help you organize, think and teach your best in k.
I believe we can hold tight to the beauty in teaching kindergarten. While it’s not always easy – it can be simple: Planning, organization, rigorous expectations with an age-appropriate approach makes learning fun and the cool thing to do.
So – let’s do this together!
Just a warning
Now, this website is NOT for all teachers. Not even for all kindergarten teachers.
It’s just for kindergarten teachers who want to:
- think and work smart
- teach in fun, age-appropriate ways
- pick classroom systems and routines that lead to student responsibility and more effective lessons
And because I’m not a fan of worksheets (or curriculum for that matter) you won’t find the fluffy, busy-work stuff here.
I truly believe in teaching kindergarten students how to be pretty incredible along with teaching them to read, write and think for themselves. It’s how I ran my classroom for over 10 years.
All of my experience is in kindergarten – it’s my wheelhouse and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Where to Start
- If you’re new to kindergarten, you’ve gotta start with the Back to School Bootcamp.
- If you’re looking to work smart then let’s get going! Use the menu or search bar at the top of this page to jump in.
- If you want a freebie, I’ve got your back.
- If you want awesome downloads to save you time, keep you organized and teach in kinder-friendly ways then shop my teacher store online.
On a Personal Note
I’m not your average kindergarten teacher. I won’t claim to be – nor will I claim to know everything about teaching kindergarten or claim to be a guru.
But I do have enough experience challenging the status quo of teaching and challenging myself to know what works and what doesn’t in the world of teaching five and six-year-olds.
Here are a few more things you should know about me:
I love Jesus (I claim 2 Cor. 3:17 over this little slice of the internet), my family, hitting up zoos and aquariums and I’m a huge fan of Disney World.
I have traveled the world which makes me recognize that I love home {wherever my family is} best. Currently, I am working from home as I raise my own pack of readers.
I’ve been sharing online since 2010 and I’m pumped to have you here.
