Simple Computer Tutorials (for Google Slides)

This tutorial page is a bonus set of helpful hints for those of us who are visual learners. I’m going to show you screenshots of how to customize the template you purchased using Google Slides.

Google Slides will let you edit the template you bought and share the finished presentation with a URL address that you can share online.

Use these tips on your Simple Computer templates to add your own content, create links and personalize it.

I’ll be using my free Jungle theme version (basic template) for this example, but any theme and template will follow the same general setup.

How it works

First, let’s cover how it works.

Students will click through pages of tasks – pages that you determine the content. The navigation between pages is all set up for you and makes getting to each thing easy.

Here’s a video to show how the homepage buttons and navigation works:

Your purchase came with many templates – which may have additional tasks or homepage buttons – but all themes are just as easy to edit and just as easy for students to navigate the completed presentation.

Now that you know how it works. Let’s upload it to Google Slides.

Start with Google Slides

You’ll need a Google account (which is free to create if you don’t have one) and you’ll need to open Google Slides.

You’ll also need to have downloaded and unzipped your purchase from TPT.

  1. After you’ve opened Google Slides, then click the folder button.
  2. Select: “Upload” (from the tab options at the top of the window that pops up)
  3. Click: “Select a file from your device”
  4. Find the template you want to use on your computer, click it to highlight.
  5. Click: “Open”

Your template is now ready to customize.
